Its Monday again, and everyone here at the moveme HQ seems a bit… well, tired.

Despite the fact that it is a dreary rainy morning (where on earth did the summer go?), inside it’s a bit stuffy, due to the fact that our office is crammed full of angst ridden techies trying to work at the speed of light.

Even as I write this, Andy (Mr CTO) has just made to turn on the air conditioning unit (in an attempt to wake us all up or perhaps just to entertain their strange technical brains, who knows?).
Even though we may appear have the ‘Monday morning melancholy’, the moveme team are still working hard to revolutionise moving home. We are in the process of adding three new features: ‘Book a Storage Facility’, ‘Find Mortgage Provider’ and ‘Tell a Friend’.

Storage is something we have found a lot of you are asking us for when using the MovePlanner – so we have risen to the occasion and put in a storage task, complete with store discounts and a ‘call me back’ facility. It’s a beta version test, so go on, give it a try, and let us know what would make it better for you.

Similarly, finding a mortgage provider is also something a lot of you have been asking us for. We spent a lot of time thinking about how to do this. And although we had many a comparison website trying to get us to sell their wares, we though ‘well, we are a problem solving business, not a business generator for other websites!’; so we told all those ‘click-harvesters’ that we could do a much better job ourselves, thank you very much.

Eventually we came up with a good idea, and we have linked each postcode to the nearest financial adviser! You tell us what you want to borrow and you local adviser will think about what you need to fit your requirements, and then give you a call. It’s free, impartial and personal (and the best solution we could come up with!). Give it a whirl and let us know what you would change… because unfortunately, we couldn’t quite harness the brain power of all you smart home movers, no matter how much we tried.

Tell a friend pretty much does what it says on the tin – however, every person that tells a friend through us will get a free moveme.com key recovery service! Pretty handy for all those people who constantly misplace their keys (or in my case, leave them in the lock).

In other news, moveme.com is expanding! We are soon to be moving to a lovely big office in Victoria, having outgrown our ‘training office’ in Wimbledon. We are recruiting like crazy (if you are a superhero, interested in working with us, check out our jobs section), and can’t wait to move to the plush new offices, so we are no longer sitting knee to knee! In the meantime however, the Tech Team are being officially kicked out of Wimbledon and thrust into the heart of London (aka Regents Street), as Mr CTO simply can’t stop himself from hiring new techies, and we have run out of space! However, in a month or so we shall all be reunited on Buckingham Gate. We’ve heard there’s quite a famous family living nearby, and are hoping our new neighbours will invite us for a welcome tea once we move in.

As ever, the pace is fast moving here with the team, and I have far too much to write about! Just one quick note: you may have noticed that moveme.com is now running a Blog (and if you hadn’t noticed by now, what did you think you were reading?!), but the moving home tips from our in-house move doctor are still available for all to see! Just take a look at the navigation panel on the right hand side of the page.
