2007, and I love being a Londoner…

So, here we are at last. Buckingham Gate is officially our new home, and we all moved in yesterday – hurrah!

We all came for a little celebration here on Friday evening, and enjoyed our new open space and the lovely garden. We opened all the cupboards and looked in the (huge!) fridge; we admired the designs in the frosted glass partitions; we wrote on the whiteboards…

Monday morning we had a few little surprises from the wonderful powers that be; the cup fairy had bought us all mugs with our names and avatars on, and we had branded mouse mats and coasters – how lovely! It was a super hectic day, with lots of organising and chatting and looking – in other words, discovering our new home. We plan to be here for a long time, and are settling in well.

So far, we have discovered some nice places around here. St James’ Park is opposite us, which is an obvious ‘nice’ spot. We have also found a sandwich shop down the road, which sells the nicest egg mayonnaise rolls! And a café around the corner, where you can get pizza on a pancake base (did they run out of dough? Is this a new specialty? Don’t ask me – I was just as confused as you are!).

No one likes a long commute (or even a short one) especially in central London; but I for one am really loving the hustle and bustle first thing in the morning in London. Everything is shiny and new, and there is the smell of hard work mixed with ambition in the air – a combination which pretty much sums up us.

It’s taken a while for us to get here, but moveme.com is moving up in the world; and if we’re starting with residing next to the Queen, we must be doing pretty well.

Hurrah for London and hurrah for moveme.com!
